Job Summary

The Staff Radiation Therapist functions as an integral member of the Department of Radiation Oncology of the Medical Center. The primary purpose of the Staff Radiation Therapist is to perform radiation therapy and imaging procedures involving the application of X-rays and radioactive substances to patients for simulation and treatment for malignancies and pain.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform radiation therapy and imaging procedures assisting in treatment planning and maintenance of prescribed standards set forth by the Radiation Oncologist.
  • Reinforce advice and monitor patients for unusual reactions and events, observe radiation safety measures for patients and staff, and assist in student teaching, oversight, and supervision.
  • Provide patient education, participating in the education and research missions of the Medical Center through active participation in clinical education and clinical projects.
  • Perform quality assessment activities for the Department of Radiation Oncology.

Requirements

  • For Hire: 2-Year College Degree or equivalent education/experience.
  • Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in Radiation Therapy Technology.
  • Licensed by the State of Ohio through the Ohio Department of Health in Radiation Therapy.
  • 2+ years of Radiation Therapy experience.
