Job Summary

The Admissions Specialist is a key member of the Intake Team at Universal Health Services, responsible for coordinating the admissions process. This includes handling inquiry calls, processing referrals, and communicating with referral sources and customers. Additional responsibilities include insurance verification, patient registration, and scheduling evaluations.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate admissions process, including handling inquiry calls and processing referrals
  • Communicate with referral sources and customers to ensure smooth admissions process
  • Verify insurance coverage and precertification requirements
  • Register patients and obtain necessary information
  • Schedule evaluations and admissions processing
  • Monitor bed board and ensure efficient use of resources
  • Perform non-clinical duties as assigned by admissions leadership team
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, mental health, or related field
  • Minimum one year of experience in human service, social service, psychiatric, or mental health setting
  • Certification in CPR and Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI)
  • Knowledge of crisis intervention, risk assessment, and psychiatric diagnosis
