Job Description

Fab-Tex, a leading truck dealer in Bohemia, NY, is seeking a skilled Automotive Repair Assistant to join its expanding service team. As an Automotive Repair Assistant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the timely delivery of high-quality vehicles.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Preparation of Body Work: Assist in preparing body work for assigned vehicles, ensuring all necessary repairs are completed efficiently.
  • Vehicle Status Monitoring: Stay up-to-date on the status of assigned vehicles and collaborate with the team to resolve any issues that may arise.
  • Painting and Finishing: Assist in painting vehicles, including prepping, power washing, cleaning, sanding, sandblasting, masking, wrapping, covering, priming, and applying paper.
  • General Assistance: Provide general support to the team, including helping with tasks and projects as needed.
Requirements:
  • Professionalism and Motivation: Maintain a high level of professionalism, motivation, and organization in the workplace.
  • Valid Driver's License: Possess a current and valid driver's license (CDL preferred but not mandatory).
  • Effective Communication: Demonstrate excellent communication skills within a team environment.
  • Adaptability: Show the ability to work in a fast-paced shop without compromising the quality of work.
Physical Demands:

The physical demands of this role include standing, walking, grasping tools, hearing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, sitting for extended periods, lifting/moving up to 25 lbs, and maintaining good vision.

Working conditions include a large facility with overhead cranes.
