Position Details:
The Clinical Speech Therapist is responsible for assessing and treating both children and adults within our comprehensive pediatric and adult outpatient services, with the potential to cover inpatient needs as well.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conducts evaluations of clients/patients to identify underlying factors contributing to speech, language, and/or hearing disorders; collects relevant data regarding the patient's communication challenges and selects suitable assessment tools.
- Implements diagnostic testing protocols to ascertain the severity of the patient's impairment and the likelihood of improvement.
- Designs tailored treatment plans for individuals diagnosed with speech and language needs.
- Focus areas include articulation, voice, fluency, receptive and expressive language abilities, oral motor skills, dysphagia, and auditory processing.
Qualifications:
- Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology is required.
- Certification of Clinical Competence in Speech and Language from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (CCC) is necessary.
- A valid New York State license and registration in Speech-Language Pathology is mandatory.
- Experience with Modified Barium Swallow (MBS) is preferred but not essential; training will be provided.
- Prior experience with the adult neurologic population is advantageous.
- Evening hours are part of the role's requirements.
- TSSLD certification must be obtained within the first year of employment.
Compensation:
The salary range for this position is USD $67.39 per hour.
This range serves as a good faith estimate; actual compensation will depend on various factors, including the candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies, and experience. The stated salary does not include bonuses, incentive pay, or other forms of compensation that may apply to this role, nor does it account for the value of benefits.
