Position Overview:
The Department of Biology is looking to appoint a full-time, tenure-track faculty member.

Teaching Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will be responsible for instructing General Biology courses. Additional courses may be assigned based on the expertise of the candidate and the needs of the department. Candidates with a background in developing high-quality online courses in environmental biology or related fields are encouraged to apply. Preference will be given to individuals with expertise in aquatic ecology, water-quality assessment, and/or mycology, although all biology disciplines will be considered. There may also be opportunities to create new upper-division courses as student interest and resources permit.

Additional Duties:
Faculty members are typically expected to engage in assessment activities, serve on committees, provide academic advising, participate in outreach initiatives, and contribute to curriculum development. The selected candidate will be anticipated to establish a research program that involves undergraduate students and seek funding to support this initiative.

Qualifications:
A Ph.D. in Biology or a closely related field is required by the time of appointment, although candidates who are ABD and will complete their degree by the specified time may also be considered. Strong oral and written communication skills, along with a commitment to undergraduate education and mentorship, are essential. Experience in online teaching and course development is highly valued.
