Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure that menu offerings are financially viable, balancing quality with profitability.

  • Organize and manage work schedules, ensuring sufficient staffing to meet operational demands.

  • Manage food inventory, including ordering supplies, tracking stock levels, and reducing waste.
  • Build relationships with suppliers and negotiate pricing to enhance cost-effectiveness.
  • Ensure strict compliance with health and safety regulations and food hygiene standards.
  • Collaborate with management and front-of-house teams to align culinary offerings with the establishment's overall vision and objectives.
  • Work alongside event coordinators to ensure the flawless execution of special events and catering services.
  • Recruit and train kitchen staff, ensuring they are knowledgeable about menu items, cooking methods, safety protocols, and sanitation practices.
  • Promote ongoing learning and development to elevate the culinary team's skills.
  • Develop and oversee kitchen budgets, including food costs, labor expenses, and overheads.
  • Implement cost-saving strategies without sacrificing quality.
  • Create tailored menus for special events and ensure their successful execution.
  • Enforce company policies and procedures effectively.
Essential Qualifications:
  • Culinary Degree or equivalent culinary certification is preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years in a culinary leadership role, ideally as a Sous Chef.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of culinary techniques and flavor profiles.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational abilities.
  • Proficient in time management and scheduling.
  • Understanding of food safety and health regulations.
  • Customer-focused approach.
  • Ability to manage employee relations effectively.
  • Strong business and financial insight.
  • Familiarity with regulatory compliance regarding wages, scheduling, etc.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
