Job Summary

The Radiology Assistant will provide support to the imaging team, ensuring the efficient care of patients and maintaining a smooth workflow in the department. This role involves working closely with licensed technologists, RNs, and radiologists to provide safe, emotionally supportive, and individualized care to patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide patient care as applicable, including obtaining patient history, IV starts, hygiene, and assisting with patient transportation and positioning.
  • Maintain constant patient flow throughout assigned areas.
  • Stock and clean rooms as needed.
  • Proactively check outpatient schedules and notify technologists of any order issues.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA policies and procedures.
  • Assist technologists with other duties as requested.
  • Document patient care in the Electronic Health Record (EHR).
  • Communicate patient information to technologists.
  • Participate in educational offerings, staff meetings, and departmental meetings.
  • Display professional behaviors that reflect the SHINE Behavior Standards.
  • Promote patient safety standards.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Float throughout the department as needed for transport or front desk duties.
Job Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • IV Certification within 90 days of hire.
  • Ultrasound IV Certification within 6 months of hire date.
  • BLS/CPR Certification within 30 days of hire date.
  • Basic computer skills.
Physical Demands

The Radiology Assistant will be exposed to contact with chemicals and infectious fluids, heavy lifting, constant standing, and extensive computer work. Physical motions include finger dexterity, standing, walking, stooping, talking, reaching, feeling, sitting, bending, kneeling, grasping, listening/hearing, handling, lifting up to 100 pounds, and repetitive motions of the hands, wrists, and feet.

This is a safety-sensitive position.
