Olympia Food Industries, a leading producer of Greek & Mediterranean cuisine, is in search of a skilled Industrial Maintenance Technician to enhance our maintenance team. This position typically commences at 6:00 AM and spans approximately 10 hours, predominantly from Monday to Friday, including a 1-hour break. The initial compensation will be determined based on the candidate's expertise, experience, resume, and references. A signing bonus is available, and annual raises may be granted following a favorable performance evaluation.

Position Overview

The selected candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the maintenance department through various tasks, including upkeep, repairs, construction, and preventive maintenance within an industrial-grade facility.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • Willingness to work overtime and flexible hours as needed.
  • Proficiency in electrical control systems.
  • Experience with hydraulics is preferred.
  • Knowledge of pneumatics is a plus.
  • Welding capabilities are advantageous.
  • Fabrication skills are beneficial.
  • Strong arithmetic and numerical skills.
  • Familiarity with computers and related software.
  • Experience operating forklifts and scissor lifts.
  • Ability to lift up to 80 pounds unaided.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Visual acuity, both near and far, with or without corrective lenses.
  • Manual dexterity to handle tools and equipment.
  • Capability to reach, balance, climb, crouch, pull, and push.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills in English are essential.
  • Ability to interact positively with colleagues to achieve shared objectives.
  • Adaptability to changing circumstances affecting productivity or personnel.
  • Commitment to fostering a positive workplace atmosphere.
Key Responsibilities
  • Directly assist in departmental activities and productivity.
  • Support operations across various departments.
  • Identify and report unsafe or hazardous working conditions.
  • Address any unsafe or inappropriate behavior.
  • Execute Lockout & Tagout procedures as necessary.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
  • Maintain a high level of awareness regarding safety and sanitation protocols.
  • Keep the work area clean and organized.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety and sanitation standards among all team members.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation.
  • Adhere to and promote Olympia Food's GMPs, rules, and regulations.
  • Follow and educate others on HACCP and SQF guidelines.
  • Complete all required paperwork promptly and accurately.
Work Environment
  • Work conditions may involve variable temperatures ranging from -10°F to 40°F.
  • This role is physically demanding, requiring frequent bending, lifting, pushing, pulling, walking, grasping, and reaching.
  • Involves extensive standing, climbing stairs and ladders, lifting, and squatting.
  • Work is conducted near moving mechanical components.
  • The work environment is generally clean.
  • Due to industry regulations, all jewelry and mobile devices are prohibited in work areas, with exceptions for specific items.
  • Safety awareness is crucial in manufacturing and industrial settings, and protective gear will be required as necessary.
