Job Summary

Luxfer MEL Technologies is a leading global manufacturer of high-performance materials and technologies. We are seeking an experienced Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Specialist to join our team in Tamaqua, PA and Saxonburg, PA. The successful candidate will assist the Regional EHS Manager in the management and implementation of all company environmental, health & safety programs.

Main Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement environmental, health and safety policies and procedures to ensure compliance with federal, state and local regulations.
  • Conduct regular audits and inspections to identify and mitigate potential environmental and health risks.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement sustainable practices and reduce environmental impact.
  • Provide training and guidance to employees on environmental, health and safety procedures and protocols.
  • Investigate and report on environmental incidents and near misses, and develop corrective action plans to prevent recurrence.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with regulatory agencies and stakeholders to ensure compliance and effective communication.
  • Compile and track all documentation for compliance with environmental permits and regulations.
  • Prepare and submit reports and documentation to regulatory agencies as required.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in environmental compliance, health and safety, or related field.
  • Knowledge of federal, state and local environmental regulations, including OSHA, EPA, and DOT.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and prioritize multiple tasks and projects.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business and professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedures manuals.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with LEAN, Kaizens, Cost Reduction methods and 5S.
  • Experience leading audits and investigations.
  • Experience with ISO 14001.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
