Position Title: Educational Assistant
Required Qualifications:
- Completion of High School or equivalent certification
- Additional educational credentials such as an Associate's Degree, 48 semester hours of post-secondary education, or state-required equivalency assessment
- At least one year of pertinent experience in an educational setting
Objective: To support educators, administrative staff, and clerical teams, dedicating a significant portion of time to direct interaction with students.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist individual learners or small groups to enhance their understanding of the material
- Administer and document both achievement and diagnostic assessments
- Utilize classroom technology and equipment effectively
- Manage the distribution and collection of educational resources
- Support student supervision during various activities
- Review and correct student assignments
- Adhere to safety protocols
- Maintain accurate attendance records
- Contribute to various tasks within the educational environment
- Carry out additional responsibilities as required
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift items weighing up to 50 pounds
- Engagement in other physical activities such as pushing, pulling, climbing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, talking, hearing, and seeing
Preparation Background:
- Experience may be derived from vocational training, apprenticeship programs, on-the-job training, or relevant experience
Personal Attributes:
- Flexibility in handling a variety of tasks
- Willingness to accept responsibility
- Capability to make assessments and decisions
Skills and Abilities:
- Strong reasoning and analytical skills
- Effective verbal communication
- Good visual perception and manual dexterity
- Able to distinguish colors
Work Environment:
Standard working hours are from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on school days.
