About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Documentation Specialist to join our team at Waters Corporation. As a key member of our documentation team, you will be responsible for creating high-quality, user-friendly documentation for our scientific instruments.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain accurate, concise, and well-structured technical documentation, adhering to our company's style guide.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including software development, evaluation, training, and customer support, to ensure seamless documentation and knowledge sharing.
- Partner with UX/UI Designers to define interaction narratives and on-screen content, aligning with our content guidelines.
- Communicate effectively with project teams and the technical writing community, sharing project and technical information.
- Establish and maintain strong working relationships with Waters employees.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent experience) in technical writing or a science, engineering, or software-related discipline is preferred.
- 5+ years' experience in technical/scientific writing for biotechnology, medical device, or instrument hardware technology is highly preferred.
- Experience with publishing technologies, such as FrameMaker, MadCap Flare, X-Metal, RWS CMS, HTML, Figma, and XML, is required.
- DITA and topic-based writing experience is essential.
- Familiarity with SAP and Atlassian business tools, including Jira and Confluence, is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated ability to learn new technologies and interest in the biotechnology/life sciences industry is required.
- Experience applying CX/UX principles to deeply understand target audiences and create outstanding technical content is highly desirable.
- Excellent collaboration and interpersonal skills are essential.
- Ability to produce a portfolio of writing samples for an interview is required.
