Conductor Trainee

BNSF Railway is seeking a highly skilled and safety-conscious Conductor Trainee to join our team. As a Conductor Trainee, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient movement of freight trains across our vast network.

• Train Operations: Safely switch railcars and manage train movement, ensuring compliance with company and federal regulations.
• Communication: Effectively communicate with colleagues and management through various communication devices, monitoring and reporting daily work.
• Switching Functions: Operate track switches and derails to change train routing within yards or on road, checking switch points for proper alignment.
• Train and Equipment Inspections: Conduct regular inspections of trains and equipment, observing and monitoring track conditions, and reporting on passing train conditions.

• Work in extreme all-weather conditions.
• Walk and perform work on uneven surfaces.
• Work in a safety-sensitive environment.
• Exposure to loud noise and fumes.
• Work on and around heavy and moving machinery.

• At least 18 years of age.
• Ability to report for duty at designated work locations.
• Able to work safely in extreme weather conditions.
• Able to work the required shift/hours.
• Able to meet travel requirements.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate in English.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 80 pounds.
• Ability to see, learn, and interpret hand signals from near and far.
