Role Summary:
The ideal candidate will be a pre-licensure graduate from an accredited nursing program, actively engaging in the SSM Health New Graduate Nurse Residency Program. Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN), you will provide compassionate care to patients, adhering to professional standards and the scope of your role. You will be responsible for delivering age-appropriate care to a diverse patient population with various medical conditions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Under RN supervision, perform delegated tasks based on demonstrated competence in nursing care activities.
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, addressing biophysical, psychosocial, spiritual, cultural, and age-specific needs.
- Develop and implement a realistic patient and family education plan, utilizing appropriate resources and instructional methods.
- Ensure accurate and timely documentation in accordance with policies and procedures.
- Monitor and evaluate the nursing care provided by team members, ensuring it meets patient needs.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals regarding all aspects of patient care.
- Participate in training and seek assistance to enhance your understanding of the role.
- Adhere to professional nursing standards and the ANA Code of Ethics.
- Maintain a safe and alert working environment.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Education Requirements:
Graduate from an accredited nursing program or equivalent educational background.
Experience:
No prior experience is required.
Licensure and Certifications:
Basic Life Support HealthCare Provider (BLS HCP) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) is required. Candidates must obtain their Registered Nurse (RN) license within six months of employment.
