Position Overview

As an Environmental Field Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring environmental safety and compliance. Your responsibilities will include:


Key Responsibilities:
  • Collecting samples of air, dust, soil, water, and other building materials.
  • Conducting inspections for hazardous materials, including sampling for lead-based paint and other regulated substances.
  • Analyzing and interpreting collected data.
  • Assessing environmental and health safety conditions at various client sites.
  • Completing and submitting detailed Daily Field Reports.
  • Operating relevant field equipment independently.
  • Performing additional field and office tasks as required.
  • Ensuring adherence to safe work practices throughout all project activities.

Qualifications:
Applicants should possess strong written and verbal communication skills, demonstrate the ability to work collaboratively in a team setting as well as independently, and exhibit effective problem-solving capabilities. Strong interpersonal skills are essential for interaction with clients and colleagues.

Additional requirements include:

  • Proven accuracy, reliability, and organizational skills.
  • Exceptional time management abilities, with the capacity to handle multiple assignments simultaneously.
  • A valid driver's license and vehicle insurance, along with reliable transportation for travel to various job sites.

Educational Background:
A minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent is required, with a preference for candidates holding a BS in Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Science, or a related field.

Certifications:
Lead Inspector/Risk Assessor/EBL Investigator Certifications are mandatory.

Work Environment:
This position may require performing duties in both field and office settings, including non-standard work hours as necessary. Candidates must be capable of lifting and carrying equipment weighing up to 50 lbs and may encounter wet, humid, or colder conditions. The ability to work in elevated areas with fall protection equipment is essential, and varying levels of personal protective equipment will be required at different times. A physical examination will be conducted to ensure the ability to wear necessary personal protective equipment.
