Job Overview

SUMMARY:

The incumbent will be accountable for managing and executing the analysis, administration, and supervision of diverse chemistry and biochemistry policies, programs, and practices. This role involves providing expert feedback and guidance concerning the analysis of materials, products, and devices, employing intermediate to advanced professional and technical knowledge in chemistry, biochemistry, or related analytical instrumentation and methodologies.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conducts intermediate to advanced analysis to support various testing of materials, products, and devices utilizing a range of analytical instruments, adhering to established Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Performs comprehensive review, analysis, interpretation, and documentation of testing outcomes.
  • Oversees and manages the completion and processing of various chemistry and biochemistry forms, documents, databases, and related information.
  • Provides expert analysis, interpretation, and counsel to staff and management regarding chemistry and biochemistry policies, programs, and practices, leading operational implementations and changes.
  • Engages in research and decision-making to address management and employee inquiries; facilitates customer feedback and coordinates necessary resources and responses.
  • Continuously analyzes and reviews operations, results, and feedback related to chemistry and biochemistry to identify trends, draw conclusions, and present findings and recommendations to management.
  • Ensures the precision of tests, equipment, procedures, and operational databases through audits and operational reviews, collaborating with teams to rectify discrepancies.
  • Contributes to the development of chemistry and biochemistry projects, including budget proposals, timelines, and resource requirements, while providing updates to management.
  • Maintains, prepares, and calibrates equipment and samples as necessary.
  • Interprets and applies departmental policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Enhances departmental efficiency and effectiveness by actively participating in team initiatives and providing constructive suggestions.
  • Promotes the mission of Pace Analytical by fostering a cooperative and respectful workplace environment.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and Experience:

A Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, biochemistry, or a closely related discipline; along with two (2) years of relevant experience in chemistry or biochemistry, including involvement with complex programs or operations; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Essential Knowledge and Skills:

  • Intermediate to advanced principles and techniques in chemistry and biochemistry.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the administration and oversight of chemistry and biochemistry programs and policies.
  • Ability to resolve complex chemistry and biochemistry issues effectively.
  • Familiarity with applicable chemistry and biochemistry laws and regulations.
  • Proficient in the use of various testing tools and equipment.
  • Competence in computer applications relevant to the role.
  • Effective communication skills for collaboration with staff and customers.
  • Strong command of business English, including grammar and punctuation.

Required Skills:
