Welding Inspector

We are currently seeking a full-time AWS Certified Welding Inspector for off-site fabrication shops in the Boston, MA area. The ideal candidate will have experience in inspection of welding, steel fabrication, coatings, expansion joints, bridge bearings, sign structures, bridge beams, drainage structures, and other materials.

Key Responsibilities:

• Inspecting welding and steel fabrication processes to ensure compliance with approved shop drawings, standards, and specifications
• Communicating with fabricators, clients, and engineers to ensure smooth project execution
• Producing daily written shop reports to document inspection findings

Requirements:

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Minimum 3 years of experience in welding inspection
• AWS Certified Welding Inspector certification
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team

Preferred Attributes:

• Experience in QA/QC of bridge fabrication
• Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) certifications (e.g., UT, MT, PT)
• Experience in QA/QC of bridge and highway structures fabrication
• AWS D1.1/D1.5 experience
• Coating Inspection experience
