Fleet Operations Coordinator

OBJECTIVE:
Act as the supervisor and representative for drivers within the Operations department. Oversee driver performance in designated areas and serve as the primary communication channel for drivers. Strive to achieve optimal satisfaction for both drivers and customers.
DUTIES:
- Serve as the exclusive communication link to drivers, encompassing load details, financial advances, purchase orders, maintenance scheduling, performance evaluations, and the distribution of general company updates.
- Accountable for the management of an entire fleet of tractors and drivers, ensuring effective oversight for peak performance in the following areas:
- Timely pickup and delivery operations
- Minimization of out-of-route mileage
- Compliance with hours of service regulations
- Driver availability management
- Addressing special routing requirements
- Cost management
- Ensure that each driver comprehends all aspects of customer and company expectations for each load at the time of dispatch.
- Conduct daily tracking of all assigned vehicles and drivers.
- Perform additional tasks as directed by authorized personnel.
INTERACTIONS:
Engage daily with drivers, fellow operations staff, and management through various communication methods including Qualcomm, phone, and face-to-face interactions.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong organizational capabilities, attention to detail, ability to maintain composure under pressure, manage multiple tasks effectively, and basic typing proficiency.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Capability to remain seated for extended durations. Reasonable manual dexterity is required.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
A college degree in business or a minimum of five years of experience in fleet management.
