As a Substitute Preschool Educator, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the educational framework and daily operations of the classroom during the absence of the primary teacher. Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will:
- Assist in the design and execution of educational programs by crafting activities that align with developmental standards and best practices.
- Exemplify leadership through effective modeling and coaching techniques.
- Organize both individual and group activities tailored to the developmental needs of children, fostering their social, cognitive, and emotional growth.
- Maintain open lines of communication with parents through informal conversations, progress updates, and scheduled meetings.
- Adhere to all center policies and comply with state regulations.
- Ensure a hygienic and safe classroom atmosphere, prioritizing the health and security of all children.
- Oversee the activities of substitutes, interns, and volunteers to ensure adherence to planned educational experiences and safety protocols.
- Keep precise records and documentation as required.
- Engage in ongoing professional development to enhance personal and organizational quality.
Qualifications
To be considered for this position, candidates should possess:
- A High School Diploma.
- Strong verbal and written communication abilities, along with basic computer proficiency.
- High energy levels and the capacity to collaborate effectively with staff, children, and parents, fostering a supportive team environment.
- A solid understanding of child development principles.
- Exceptional leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Successful completion of a comprehensive background check and health screening.
- The physical ability to engage in frequent walking, handling objects, and interacting with children at various levels, including the capacity to kneel, bend, squat, or crawl as necessary.
Additional Requirements
Candidates must be able to:
- Detect a child in distress from a distance of up to 25 feet.
- Lift and carry up to 30 lbs consistently throughout the day.
- Comfortably sit on the floor with children and rise quickly when needed.
