Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Track Laborer - Regional to join our team at Union Pacific Corporation. As a key member of our maintenance crew, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe and efficient movement of trains across North America.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct essential maintenance, repairs, and installations on railroad tracks within your designated territory.
  • Operate heavy equipment, including construction and farm machinery, to perform tasks such as removing and replacing ballast, tamping ballast, and assisting with the unloading of ballast from ballast cars.
  • Perform regular maintenance on tracks, as well as repairing, installing, and removing components as needed.
  • Ensure strict compliance with all safety regulations, operational guidelines, and Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) requirements.
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with coworkers, supervisors, contractors, and customers.
Requirements
  • A valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) of either Class A or Class B.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to comprehend and follow instructions, including operating and safety rules, bulletins, special instructions, and federal regulatory documents.
  • Ability to work outdoors in diverse weather conditions.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Minimum of 1 year of hands-on experience in Railroad Maintenance of Way work.
  • Experience in a construction-oriented environment.
  • Proficiency in operating heavy equipment.
  • Strong welding skills or possession of a welding certificate.
Work Environment

Must be willing to work at locations where you are willing to reside and perform job duties. Ability to work in proximity to large equipment, such as railcars, locomotives, and cranes. Work may be conducted in various rural and remote geographic areas.
