Position Summary

This entry-level role is essential for safeguarding the bank against suspected fraudulent activities, both internal and external. The primary responsibilities include identifying, preventing, and adhering to established protocols to minimize potential losses for the bank and its clientele. The specialist plays a crucial role in proactively mitigating fraud by analyzing patterns and monitoring account activities, while coordinating efforts to address and prevent fraudulent incidents across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Investigate customer account activities to identify potential fraud across various channels (e.g., Checks, Wires).
  • Review and process alerts on Yellowhammer, conducting thorough research and resolving alerts daily.
  • Manage and assess Ensenta (ATM deposits) alerts.
  • Make timely and informed decisions on behalf of customers and the bank.
  • Secure accounts to avert losses effectively.
  • Implement Reg CC holds on deposits in compliance with regulations.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to confirm the authorization of charges.
  • Facilitate cross-departmental communication to resolve fraud cases and provide actionable recommendations.
  • Work collaboratively with customers, colleagues, and branch personnel, maintaining professionalism and respect.
  • Refer alerts requiring further investigation to the Fraud Investigator/Team Lead.
  • Prioritize tasks effectively to ensure operational efficiency.
  • Continuously enhance knowledge of bank policies and procedures.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED with two years of relevant experience in a financial institution.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with identifying fraudulent activities and conducting detailed analyses of accounts and transactions.
  • Detail-oriented and self-motivated.
  • Proficient in desktop applications, including Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational abilities and capacity to work independently.
  • Robust problem-solving and analytical skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
