Position Overview:
The CNC Maintenance Specialist III is tasked with the upkeep, troubleshooting, and repair of various machine equipment, including numerically controlled machinery. This role aims to reduce machine downtime and unexpected failures by executing preventive maintenance tasks, completing repairs promptly, and enhancing maintenance processes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct safety inspections on machinery and adhere to all safety protocols while performing tasks.
  • Collaborate with the Engineering team to troubleshoot issues with numerically controlled machines.
  • Maintain and repair manufacturing equipment across all machine types, including mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems.
  • Diagnose machine issues, disassemble equipment to assess repair needs, estimate labor time, procure or fabricate repair parts, and conduct, test, and finalize repairs.
  • Perform preventive maintenance tasks such as inspecting drives, motors, and belts; checking fluid levels; replacing filters and worn components; and cleaning and lubricating machinery.
  • Monitor safety standards and complete scheduled inspections for all equipment.
  • Maintain and repair facility infrastructure, which may encompass utility, plumbing, HVAC, electrical, carpentry, and masonry work.
  • Assist in the installation of capital equipment and electrical wiring systems safely and competently.
  • Coordinate and oversee contracted work as necessary.
  • Implement and manage electronic asset management and maintenance record-keeping systems.
  • Prepare project plans and status reports as required.
  • Execute painting, sheet metal work, and welding as needed.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to established 6S standards.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma/GED and a minimum of seven (7) years of experience in manufacturing equipment repair.
  • Comprehensive knowledge in troubleshooting and repairing mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical machinery.
  • Familiarity with EMaint maintenance work order systems is preferred.
  • Basic math and computer skills are essential.
  • Ability to weld, fabricate, repair, and install equipment.
  • Capacity to learn, solve problems, and make decisions based on work instructions and documentation.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding basic English.

Physical Demands:
Regularly required to stand, walk, bend, and lift; use hands to manipulate objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms. The employee may occasionally need to sit, reach above shoulders, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear; taste or smell. The employee must be able to lift and/or move objects up to 70 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
