Medical Assistant Job Description

At UnitedHealth Group, we're committed to simplifying the healthcare experience and creating healthier communities. As a Medical Assistant, you'll play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care and supporting our primary care patient-centered medical home team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to assess, plan, and implement patient care plans.
  • Provide quality nursing care to patients and assist physicians and nurse practitioners in the clinical setting.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams to ensure seamless care coordination.
  • Participate in team 'huddles' and ensure electronic medical records are prepared for clinic visits.
  • Maintain a clean and organized clinical environment, adhering to OSHA and HIPAA guidelines.
Requirements:
  • MA credentialing required or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire.
  • Current BLS or CPR/AED certification at the time of hire or within 30 days of hire.
  • 1-3 years of clinic experience or related experience in a medical setting.
  • Proven knowledge of OSHA/HIPAA compliance.
  • Demonstrated computer literacy, including basic knowledge of Word, Excel, Outlook, and EMR systems.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Current nationally registered as Certified Medical Assistant.
  • EMR training.
