As a GM Coach at Walmart, you will be responsible for leading and developing teams effectively by teaching, training, and actively listening to associates. You will tour stores, provide feedback, and communicate with all levels of associates regarding store operations, technology, business initiatives, merchandising, and company direction. You will also introduce and lead company change efforts, provide clear expectations and guidance to implement business solutions, and communicate business objectives to teams effectively.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and develop teams effectively by teaching, training, and actively listening to associates
- Tour stores and provide feedback to associates
- Communicate with all levels of associates regarding store operations, technology, business initiatives, merchandising, and company direction
- Introduce and lead company change efforts
- Provide clear expectations and guidance to implement business solutions
- Communicate business objectives to teams effectively
- Model and demonstrate exceptional customer service standards to store associates
- Manage and support customer service initiatives
- Ensure customer needs, complaints, and issues are successfully resolved
- Develop and implement action plans to correct deficiencies
- Provide process improvement leadership to ensure a high-quality customer experience
- Drive the financial performance and sales of the designated store area
- Review and evaluate P&L statements
- Manage and assist in budgeting, forecasting, and controlling expenses
- Monitor and ensure effective merchandise presentation, seasonal transitions, inventory flow, and operational processes
- Develop and implement action plans to mitigate shrink and ensure sales and profit goals are achieved for business area
- Provide supervision and development opportunities for hourly associates
- Hire, train, and mentor associates
- Assign duties and set clear expectations
- Provide associate recognition and communicate expectations consistently and effectively
- Ensure diversity and inclusion awareness
- Recruit and develop qualified associates to meet staffing needs and achieve company growth potential
- Coordinate, complete, and oversee job-related activities and assignments
- Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders
- Support plans and initiatives to meet customer and business needs
- Identify and communicate goals and objectives
- Build accountability for and measure progress in achieving results
- Identify and address improvement opportunities
- Demonstrate adaptability and promote continuous learning
- 2 years' of college; OR 1 year's retail experience and 1 year's supervisory experience; OR 2 years' general work experience and 1 year's supervisory experience
- For facilities that sell firearms, I acknowledge that the position for which I am applying will require successful completion of a firearms-specific Criminal Background Check (CBC) and Firearms Authorized Training
- For facilities that sell only ammunition and have state-specific requirements, I acknowledge that the position for which I am applying may require a current state-issued Certificate of Eligibility
- Associates will be required to attend and successfully complete all job-required trainings and assessments
- Bachelor of Science in Business Management and Leadership through Live Better U and Bellevue University
- Certificate of Completion in People and Business Leadership through Live Better U and Bellevue University
- General work experience supervising 5 or more direct reports to include the responsibility of performance management, mentoring, hiring, and firing

Live Better U is a Walmart-paid education benefit program for full-time and part-time associates in Walmart and Sam's Club facilities. Programs range from high school completion to bachelor's degrees, including English Language Learning and short-form certificates. Tuition, books, and fees are completely paid for by Walmart.
Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment. Benefits are subject to change and may be subject to a specific plan or program terms.
The annual salary range for this position is $65,000.00-$80,000.00. Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include Regional Pay Zone (RPZ), Sales Volume Category (SVC), and Complex Structure.
