Tax Collector

Join the Arizona Department of Revenue as a Field Tax Collector and play a critical role in collecting taxes for the state and participating counties and cities.

The Field Tax Collector is responsible for the tax collection of assigned cases, including Individual Income, Corporate Income, Withholding, and Transaction Privilege Tax (TPT). This role will contact and complete the collection of tax liabilities and delinquencies via phone calls and field visits to residencies, places of employment, and/or business locations, while educating taxpayers and promoting voluntary compliance.

• Collect taxes and resolve delinquencies through phone calls and field visits
• Communicate with taxpayers to educate them on tax laws and regulations
• Conduct field visits to residencies, places of employment, and/or business locations
• Use investigative and research techniques to identify and resolve tax issues
• Collaborate with other departments to resolve complex tax cases

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience
• Minimum one year of collections experience
• Valid Arizona Driver's License
• Basic knowledge of Federal and State tax statutes, administrative rules, and regulations
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
