Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Water Quality Field Technician I to join our team at the Northwestern Water and Sewer District. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for performing a variety of water quality duties, including addressing water quality issues, leak detection, cross connection surveys, water main flushing, sampling and testing.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform water quality duties, including addressing water quality issues, leak detection, cross connection surveys, water main flushing, sampling and testing.
  • Operate and maintain equipment, including water sampling equipment and vehicles.
  • Collect and analyze water samples, and report results to management.
  • Conduct field inspections and investigations to identify and address water quality issues.
  • Develop and implement plans to improve water quality and reduce contamination.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; five years of experience in water distribution and/or water treatment preferred.
  • Ability to read and write common vocabulary.
  • Possess operator certification Class I Water Distribution and Backflow Prevention within one year; recommend obtaining Class I Water Treatment within one year.
  • Ability to work in a variety of weather conditions.
  • Must obtain a CDL during the probationary period.
