Job Summary

Orthopaedic Associates (Fort Walton Beach) is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Medical Assistant to join our team. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our orthopedic surgeons in their daily operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Facilitate Clinic Workflow: Assist in maintaining a smooth and efficient clinic environment by preparing patients for examination, taking vital signs, and reporting patient history summaries.
  • Manage Patient Information: Secure patient information and maintain confidentiality by completing and safeguarding medical records, diagnostic coding, and ensuring compliance with legal regulations.
  • Provide Excellent Customer Service: Counsel patients by transmitting physician's orders, and maintain a safe and healthy work environment by establishing and following standards and procedures.
  • Assist with Medical Procedures: Assist with injections, apply and remove casts and splints, and remove sutures, pins, and wires as needed.
  • Administrative Tasks: Send tasks for authorizations and referrals, data entry in our EMR system, and perform other administrative duties as required.
Requirements
  • Knowledge and Skills: Possess strong knowledge of anatomy, medical terminology, and healthcare regulations. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent required. Previous experience as a Medical Assistant or in a related healthcare field is preferred.
  • Certifications and Licenses: Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) certification is a plus.
