Martinsville Speedway, a renowned NASCAR venue, seeks a skilled Maintenance Technician to ensure the overall condition of its building and grounds. This role involves performing routine preventative maintenance and repair procedures on buildings, facilities, and mechanical equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform preventive building maintenance duties
  • Conduct routine plumbing repairs, including unclogging toilets, sinks, and urinals, and fixing water leaks and leaking faucets
  • Carry out routine electrical repairs, such as replacing light bulbs or fluorescent lamps, and assisting in repairing ballast and light fixtures
  • Assemble and move furniture, hang pictures, set up and tear down chairs, tables, and equipment in meeting rooms and function rooms
  • Participate in general cleaning, painting, and repair work

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Valid Florida driver's license
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
  • Ability to write simple correspondence
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization

Work Environment:

  • Regularly exposed to outside weather conditions and high, precarious places
  • Frequently exposed to wet or humid conditions, risk of electric shock, vibration, and moving mechanical parts
  • Occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals
