Job Title: Registered Veterinary Technician

At Thrive Pet Healthcare, we are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Veterinary Technician to join our team at Stonecreek Animal Hospital in Irvine. As a key member of our medical team, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our veterinarians in delivering high-quality medical services.

Responsibilities:
  • Support veterinarians in providing quality patient care, advocating for pets, and educating clients.
  • Assist with hospital functions to maximize productivity and maintain positive patient flow.
  • Perform laboratory tests, facilitate outpatient treatments, and provide support services as needed.
  • Communicate with clients about individualized pet health concerns, treatment plans, and offer guidance on medications and additional treatments.
  • Maintain accurate and comprehensive medical records with the support of practice systems.
  • Obtain relevant health history and information from clients and maintain medical charts.
  • Use safe restraining techniques, follow standard protocols, and sustain clean, sterile, organized treatment areas, exam rooms, and labs.
  • Regular attendance and timeliness are essential functions in order to fulfill the requirements of this position.
  • Take X-rays of animals, draw blood samples for testing, and perform IV catheter placement.
  • Observe animal appearance and activity for general physical condition, obvious signs of illness, disease, and discontent.
Requirements:
  • Previous veterinary technician/assistant experience required.
  • Registered Veterinary Technician is preferred but not required.
  • Proficient in IV catheters placement, blood work, and IV, IM, and SQ injections.
  • Proficient in monitoring anesthesia and working with various monitoring equipment.
  • Team player.
  • Eager to learn and self-motivated.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to multi-task with a smile.

Compensation negotiable based on credentials and experience, with a starting hourly pay rate of $20-$24. The actual rate offered will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, and experience.

4-day work week (4 ten-hour shifts) available.
