Job Overview

Position Summary:

This role encompasses all aspects of the laser turret combination operation, including tool fabrication, maintenance, setup, and operation to fulfill sheet metal production in accordance with work instructions and blueprint specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Consults production control documents and blueprints for specific job details.
  • Fabricates and maintains tools according to job specifications.
  • Prepares machinery for job execution.
  • Installs and removes necessary tools for the task.
  • Loads sheet metal onto the machine.
  • Operates the program and monitors the process.
  • May make minor adjustments to the computer program as needed.
  • Removes finished components and inspects them according to job specifications.
  • Deburrs and polishes components as required.
  • Assists with additional tasks as directed by the supervisor or manager.

Supervisory Role:

No supervisory responsibilities.

Qualifications:

Education:

High school diploma or equivalent (GED) is required.

A one-year certificate from a college or technical school is preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience:

2-3 years of relevant experience or training is necessary.

Computer Proficiency:

Ability to operate computers for operational purposes and understand the CNC machine controller.

Additional Requirements:

Capability to utilize calipers, micrometers, hand jacks, and grinders. Proficiency in reading blueprints is essential. Knowledge of CNC operations is beneficial, and programming skills are a plus.

Language Proficiency:

Intermediate skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety regulations, operating instructions, and procedural manuals. Capable of writing routine reports and correspondence. Effective communication skills before groups of customers or associates are required.

Mathematical Skills:

Basic skills: Ability to perform addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division in various units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Reasoning Skills:

Intermediate skills: Ability to apply common sense understanding to execute instructions provided in written, oral, or diagrammatic form. Capable of addressing problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Physical Requirements:
