This position plays a vital role in supporting the athletic department and student success at Kilgore College. As a Financial Aid Specialist, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate records, communicating with coaches and staff, and ensuring compliance with federal regulations.
Key Responsibilities- Process and package financial aid awards for student athletes, ensuring timely and accurate disbursements.
- Communicate with coaches, athletic staff, and other departments to resolve financial aid issues and ensure student athlete accounts are up-to-date.
- Monitor and reconcile financial aid records, identifying and resolving discrepancies.
- Provide support to the Director of Financial Aid and contribute to the development of the campus default management plan.
- Collaborate with faculty and Student Success Director to enhance retention efforts and support student success.
- Attend staff meetings and college-sponsored events, maintaining professional conduct and adhering to college policies.
- Associate degree in Office Professionals or related field; extensive related work experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.
- Excellent computer skills and proficiency in software applications, including federal electronic systems and PowerFAIDS.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with diverse stakeholders.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, handling multiple tasks and priorities with minimal supervision.
- 36-hour work week for a healthy work-life balance and generous paid leave time.

- Compensation for this 12-month position is $37,644.
