Veteran Support Specialist

US VETS Inc is seeking a compassionate and dedicated individual to join our team as an Aging Services Assistant. This role is a vital part of our mission to end and prevent veteran homelessness.
Key Responsibilities- Provide supportive services and community resource connections to older adults and adults with disabilities.
- Assist with daily activities, such as transportation scheduling, appointment reminders, and personal care needs.
- Connect residents to resources needed to ensure their ability to remain independently housed.
- Document assistance provided and observations in a timely fashion.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Two (2) years of experience working in residential milieus with seniors and/or adults with disabilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with residential staff.
- Compassionate and patient nature interacting with residents.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Problem-solving and critical thinking abilities.
- Experience providing services within a harm reduction and motivational interviewing framework.
- Valid driver's license required.
