Job Title: Quality Specialist RN

We are seeking a highly skilled Quality Specialist RN to join our team at Northern Light Health. As a Quality Specialist RN, you will play a critical role in ensuring the highest quality of care for our patients.

Job Summary:

The Quality Specialist RN will be responsible for initiating and supporting day-to-day functions, as well as strategic imperatives, that support infection prevention, quality, and performance improvement initiatives of Northern Light Continuing Care, Mars Hill.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement a surveillance plan and program objectives in collaboration with the Infection Control Committee.
  • Systematically collect data for the purpose of identifying and tracking high-risk, high-volume healthcare-associated infections and sources of infection.
  • Make recommendations for program and policy development for the prevention and control of infection and exposure to bloodborne pathogens among patients, visitors, staff, and all associates.
  • Implement programs to meet compliance with State, OSHA, and CDC guidelines and recommendations related to Infection Control and Quality.
  • Participate in the creation of action plans to improve the quality, safety, and infection prevention practices of the nursing facility.
  • Promote, implement, and monitor an effective hand hygiene program that complies with the CDC guidelines.
  • Adhere to State and Federal mandates, investigate, manage, and report outbreaks of infection. Collaborate with Maine CDC as necessary.
  • Assist with the review and revision of infection control policies/procedures to meet changing practices and standards in all organizational settings.
  • Evaluate isolation techniques and assist with placement of patients as needed.
  • Provide necessary infection control education for all employees when necessary.

Education:
  • Required Registered Nurse
  • Required associate's degree in nursing, bachelor's degree preferred.
