Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Utility Systems Operator to join our team at TransForce. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining our potable water treatment systems, ensuring the delivery of safe and clean drinking water to our customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate and maintain potable water treatment systems, including boilers, air conditioning, wastewater treatment, and natural gas distribution systems.
  • Perform quality control tests to ensure that the finished product meets the Safe Drinking Water Act limitations.
  • Collect and preserve samples for delivery to North Carolina Certified laboratories.
  • Generate reports detailing the monthly operation of each system and forward them to the Branch Supervisor.
  • Perform operation, preventive/corrective maintenance, and quality control tests for portable water treatment/distribution systems and municipal wastewater collection/treatment systems.
  • Manage treatment pond elevation as specified by facility permits.
  • Install, inspect, and service backflow prevention valves and service connections as needed.
Requirements
  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.
  • New employees to the Department of the Navy will be required to successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check.
  • Males born after must be registered for Selective Service.
  • This is a bargaining unit position.
  • You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators, and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
  • Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g., fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation, and chemicals).
  • You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites.
  • You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
  • This is a Mission Essential position.
  • You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
  • This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements.
  • Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver's license.
  • You will be required to obtain government-issued driver's license for various utility vehicles and other CDL Class B type government vehicles within 12 months of assignment to position.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain Certification as Water Distribution Operator (C) and/or Wastewater Collection Operator-Grade I within 12 months of hire.
