As a Senior Software Developer at American Airlines, you will be responsible for designing and developing cutting-edge technology solutions to drive business growth. Job Overview

The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field and 2 years of experience in the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC). You will possess excellent communication and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to adapt to changing priorities and work environments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with leaders, business analysts, project managers, IT architects, technical leads, and other developers to understand business requirements and develop solutions.
  • Maintain and enhance existing enterprise services, applications, and platforms using domain-driven design and test-driven development.
  • Troubleshoot and debug complex issues, identifying and implementing solutions.
  • Assist with creating detailed project specifications, requirements, and estimates, ensuring tasks and projects are completed on time and within scope.
  • Work with software architects to ensure decisions meet long-term enterprise growth needs.
  • Support the development of coding standards and adhere to best practices and security guidelines.
  • Research and implement new technologies to enhance current processes, security, and performance.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Technology, Information Systems (CIS/MIS), Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • 2 years of SDLC experience.
  • Airline industry experience, including business processes and supporting technology, is desired.
  • Experience with HTML5, CSS3, SASS, JavaScript, TypeScript, jQuery, Angular (>9), UI Frameworks (Material, Bootstrap, Foundation, etc.), and testing frameworks (unit testing, e2e, etc.) is highly valued.
