Job Summary:

We are looking for a seasoned and innovative Head of Automation Engineering to spearhead our automation projects across diverse manufacturing processes. The ideal candidate will possess a robust background in robotics and mechanical engineering, with a demonstrated history of successful automation implementation in sectors such as packaging, automotive, aerospace, or manufacturing. This position is crucial for enhancing efficiency and boosting the overall productivity of our operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Automation Strategy & Roadmap: Formulate and oversee the automation strategy, ensuring it aligns with corporate objectives. Concentrate on comprehensive process automation from raw material management to final product packaging.
  • Process Enhancement: Recognize, design, and execute automation solutions to optimize existing manual workflows, improve efficiency, and minimize costs.
  • Leadership & Team Development: Assemble and guide an automation team, offering mentorship and support. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to guarantee successful project delivery.
  • Project Oversight: Manage the planning, execution, and completion of automation projects, ensuring they are finalized on schedule and within budget. Oversee a project delivery timeline of 12-18 months.
  • Technical Proficiency: Utilize extensive knowledge of robotics and mechanical engineering to design, refine, and implement automation systems. Ensure the seamless integration of new and existing machinery.
  • Business Impact & Metrics: Establish and monitor performance metrics to evaluate the success of automation initiatives. Aim to decrease labor costs per unit and enhance overall operational efficiency.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Engage closely with senior leadership to align automation strategies with strategic business goals. Effectively communicate progress, challenges, and achievements.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering; Master's degree preferred.
  • 7-10 years of experience in automation implementation within packaging, automotive, aerospace, or manufacturing sectors. Experience in mid-management or leadership roles, overseeing automation projects and teams.
  • Strong grasp of robotics and mechanical engineering principles.
  • Proven track record in process optimization and automation deployment.
  • Excellent project management capabilities with a history of delivering complex projects.
  • Strong leadership and team-building skills.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the broader business implications of automation initiatives.
