Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Speech-Language Pathologist to join our team at UNLV Health. As a Speech-Language Pathologist, you will be responsible for assessing, treating, and providing education to patients with speech, language, and swallowing disorders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop individualized treatment plans for patients with speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
  • Provide evidence-based treatments, including speech therapy, language therapy, and swallowing therapy.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including physicians, audiologists, and other healthcare professionals, to ensure comprehensive care for patients.
  • Provide education and training to patients, families, and caregivers on speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
  • Stay up-to-date with current best practices and research in speech-language pathology.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
  • State of Nevada Board of Examination for Audiology and Speech Pathology License.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in acute and ambulatory care practice as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
  • Knowledge and experience working with children from birth to 9 years and willingness to work with this age group.
  • Knowledge and experience working with head and neck cancer patients, including laryngectomy patients and voice disorder patients.
  • Knowledge and experience with children with Autism and/or other neurodevelopmental disorders.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Advanced experience with computer software programs and clinical documentation.
  • Competency in knowledge and adherence to HIPAA legislation and other patient privacy laws.
  • Knowledge and training or practice in areas of aphasia, apraxia, dysarthria, cognitive deficits, dysphagia, neurological disorders, cleft palate, and voice disorders.
