About the Position

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Process Safety Engineer to join our team at BD (Becton, Dickinson and Company). This is an exciting opportunity for a leader who can drive process safety excellence in our manufacturing operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate process hazards and develop effective solutions to mitigate risk.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive High Hazard/Process Safety Management (HH/PSM) programs that meet regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
  • Lead Process Hazard Analyses (PHA) on existing and new processes, and track key performance indicators to measure program effectiveness.
  • Provide oversight for the site Management of Change (MOC) Processes and lead Pre-Startup Safety Reviews (PSSR) for site projects.
  • Lead Root Cause Analysis (RCA) investigations for incidents and near misses, and provide mentoring and training to site personnel.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Environmental Health & Safety, or related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience leading EHS processes in a manufacturing environment, with knowledge of 14 elements of Process Safety Management (PSM) and the EPA's Risk Management Plan (RMP) rule.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Ability to analyze problems, provide accurate solutions, and manage multiple priorities.
  • Proficiency in commonly used computer software and databases (e.g., Microsoft Excel, Word).
