Your Responsibilities:
  • Manage the daily operations of the Gift Shop and Photo departments.
  • Inspire and mentor team members, cultivating a collaborative environment that emphasizes teamwork and mutual support.
  • Work closely with various departments, including Marketing, Husbandry, Safety, Security, Guest Experience, and Guest Services.
  • Conduct thorough inspections of merchandise areas before opening, throughout the day, and after closing to ensure cleanliness, safety, and optimal presentation.
  • Hold team members accountable for their performance, providing constructive feedback to maintain Adventure Aquarium's high standards.
  • Delegate tasks related to stocking, register operations, and inventory management.
  • Oversee inventory processes, including receiving merchandise, conducting cycle counts, and communicating with vendors to maintain appropriate stock levels.
  • Assist in the recruitment and training of new employees alongside the Revenue Manager and Supervisors.
  • Support the Manager in enhancing customer service initiatives and resolving operational challenges.
  • Coordinate with the Corporate buying team and photo team regarding inventory management, program implementation, and layout planning.
  • Develop and implement projects aimed at boosting revenue, enhancing guest experiences, or improving team member satisfaction.
  • Monitor guest feedback to identify trends and utilize sound judgment to address onsite complaints effectively.
  • Perform team member duties as required.
  • Address guest concerns as necessary.
  • Participate in all training programs to deepen your understanding of our exhibits, programs, visitor information, and policies.
  • Ensure all documentation is accurately completed and filed at the end of each day.
  • Adhere to safety and security protocols and procedures.
  • Carry out additional responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • 4-5 years of experience in customer service, preferably in a high-traffic attraction, restaurant, retail setting, theme park, museum, hospitality, or sports franchise.
  • 2-3 years of supervisory experience.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Photography experience is a plus.
  • Exceptional customer service and conflict resolution abilities.
  • Friendly, approachable demeanor with a proactive attitude.
  • Genuine passion for assisting and communicating with others.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively as part of a team.
  • Availability to work weekends, with occasional evenings and holidays.
  • Capability to manage and account for significant sums of money.
  • Technical or computer skills are advantageous.
