The Japan-America Society of the State of Washington is seeking a highly motivated and organized Small Business Resiliency Network Coordinator to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will play a crucial role in supporting the growth and development of small businesses owned by Japanese immigrants in Washington state.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day communications with small businesses, including website content, electronic newsletters, and social media coordination.
  • Coordinate with other staff members to ensure seamless communication and collaboration.
  • Attend regular update meetings on state and federal technical assistance training to stay informed and up-to-date.
  • Create and post relevant social media content to promote our small business aid program to the Japan-related community.
  • Recruit business consultants to participate in the program and assist them in developing media presentations for use at small business training seminars and on the website.
  • Outreach to small and micro business owners and managers to increase awareness of the business training program and relevant government programs.
  • Track program results and achievements, and report them to government agencies.
  • Assist with expense reporting to government agencies and track monthly expenses.
  • Catalog and digitize historical media collections.

Requirements

  • Proficient in Japanese reading, writing, and speaking.
  • Experience with proofreading and editing in Japanese.
  • Deep understanding of Japanese business culture and knowledge of the challenges faced by recent immigrants from Japan.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to work efficiently and professionally with little supervision.
  • Highly proficient computer skills using PC operating systems, familiarity with Microsoft Office, Teams, and Zoom applications, and social media platforms.
  • Able to work well with a diverse range of people and possess exceptional accuracy, efficiency, and follow-through with all tasks and projects.
  • Passion for U.S.-Japan relations and a valid driver's license.

Desirable Skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Positive attitude and ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Experience with scanners, digital video equipment, audio systems, and streaming services.
  • Experience working with Wild Apricot, WordPress, Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or other relevant software.
  • Salary dependent on experience, with benefits including an Orca card for transportation and SEP eligibility after 12 months of employment.
