We are seeking a highly skilled LPN Outpatient Lead to join our team at Carilion Clinic. As a key member of our clinical operations team, you will be responsible for coordinating and planning various clinical activities in our physician office. This is a full-time position that requires a strong background in patient care delivery, staff management, and clinical operations.
Key Responsibilities- Coordinate Clinical Activities: Plan and organize various clinical activities in the physician office, including patient care delivery, staff management, and clinical operations.
- Manage Clinical Staff: Develop and maintain work schedules, coordinate requests for shift coverage, and direct clinical staff as needed.
- Improve Clinical Care: Assist the Site Manager in identifying, reviewing, and recommending suggestions to improve clinical care and outcomes.
- Recruit and Retain Staff: Assist the Site Manager in staff recruitment, selection, and retention activities.
- Coordinate Orientation and Training: Coordinate onsite orientation for new clinical staff, complete clinical skill checklists, and orientation checklists jointly with the Site Manager.
- Perform Competency Validation and Performance Appraisal: Perform or assist with annual competency validation and performance appraisal of staff.
- Maintain Work Area and Equipment: Maintain work areas, exam rooms, treatment rooms, and x-ray rooms, and ensure that all clinical staff comply with safety measures.
- Participate in Direct Patient Care: Participate in direct patient care delivery as appropriate for the individual certification or licensure.
- Assist with Referral Authorizations: Assist with making calls for referral authorizations for specialists, consultations, and preauthorizations for testing and ancillary services as needed.
- Education: Graduate of an accredited school of practical nursing required.
- Experience: Two years experience in a physician office setting required.
- Licensure/Certification: Current licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) required. AHA BLS-HCP required.
- Skills: Excellent interpersonal skills, effective communication skills, basic computer skills, and strong problem-solving skills.
