The U.S. Department of Health & Human Services is seeking a highly skilled Physician - Primary Care/Family Medicine/Geriatrics Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide comprehensive medical care services to patients of all ages, from infants to geriatric patients.
Key Responsibilities- Diagnose and treat a wide range of health-related conditions, including geriatric, adult, adolescent, pediatric, and infant patients.
- Prescribe and carry out appropriate therapy in conformance with approved clinical privileges.
- Educate patients and their families on health-related conditions, recommended treatments, and general health promotion.
- Record patient-provider transactions in the problem-oriented medical record format and complete required data collection instruments, referrals, and medical records.
- Assist in the provision of continuing education, on-the-job training, and orientation of Indian Health Service and Tribal staff.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to attain high standards of healthcare in compliance with IHS regulations and directives.
To qualify for this position, you must meet the following requirements:
- Hold a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.) degree from a school in the United States or Canada.
- Be licensed to practice medicine in the United States.
- Have at least one year of supervised experience providing direct service in a clinical setting.
- Be board certified in the physician's specialty by the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS) or the American Osteopathic Association (AOA).
Board certification in the physician's specialty is highly desirable. Recent completion of residency training and active pursuit of board certification in the specialty to which applying is also acceptable.
Working ConditionsThis position requires working in a fast-paced healthcare environment, interacting with patients, families, and healthcare professionals. The selected individual must be able to work effectively in a team environment and maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
