The State of South Dakota is seeking a motivated individual to broaden their knowledge of geology and transportation engineering as an intern. This position is ideal for students pursuing a degree in Civil or Geological Engineering.

As a Geotechnical Engineering intern, you will assist professional staff with data collection and analysis, field testing, and soil sampling. You will also have the opportunity to participate in construction inspections and geohazard evaluation. Knowledge of South Dakota geology and geotechnical engineering principles is beneficial but not required.

We offer a competitive salary of $24.42 per hour (for engineer students) or $21.66 per hour (for non-engineer students). The internship is a paid opportunity to gain valuable experience and skills in a dynamic and diverse work environment.

To be eligible, applicants must be enrolled as part-time or full-time students at a college, university, or technical institute. Preference may be given to junior/senior students, South Dakota residents, and students of South Dakota institutions.
