Job Title: Interprofessional Nurse Educator

East Carolina University is seeking a part-time Interprofessional Nurse Educator to join our team. As a key member of our Clinical Simulation Program, you will play a vital role in developing and delivering simulation-based education to medical students and residents.

Job Summary:

The Interprofessional Nurse Educator will be responsible for leading the development of simulation curriculum, teaching and facilitating interdisciplinary simulation sessions, and collaborating with faculty and staff to advance the science of simulation-based training and assessment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement simulation curriculum that aligns with institutional priorities and meets curricular requirements for Brody School of Medicine
  • Teach and facilitate interdisciplinary simulation sessions using standards of best practice in simulation
  • Collaborate with faculty and staff to develop simulation scenarios that promote student learning, critical thinking, and clinical decision making
  • Contribute to the evaluation of simulation program outcomes and disseminate findings to stakeholders
  • Participate in selected university and health system committees related to faculty and staff development
Requirements:
  • Post-Baccalaureate degree required and at least one year of experience in clinical nursing and/or teaching experience in a healthcare setting
  • Active Registered Nurse North Carolina License required
  • Proficiency in Microsoft software applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Adult Educational theory, methodologies, and delivery
  • Knowledge of fundamentals of care across the lifespan (pediatric, adult, OB, geriatrics)
  • Experience teaching using simulation-based education
  • Certified Healthcare Simulation Educator certification (CHSE) from the Society for Simulation in Healthcare (SSH)
