Aquatics Manager Job Summary

The Aquatics Manager is responsible for leading the Aquatics department at Life Time Fitness, overseeing the activities and growth of the program, including financial management, hiring, training, and supervising team members. This role requires exceptional customer service skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. The Aquatics Manager will lead a team of swim instructors, coaches, and lifeguards, and will be responsible for maintaining the safety and cleanliness of the aquatic facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and support all Aquatics Team Members
  • Conduct daily inspections to ensure pool area is clean and safe
  • Facilitate lifeguard training on pool safety and rescue techniques
  • Assess performance, provide feedback, and coach Aquatics Team Members
  • Manage the aquatics department within budget guidelines
  • Formulate, monitor, and reconcile the budget and financial reports for aquatics programs
  • Set the standard for the Aquatics Department by providing exceptional customer service and meeting the Members' needs and expectations
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 2 years of customer service experience
  • 2 years of coaching and/or swim instructor experience
  • 2 years of lifeguarding experience
  • 2 years of supervisory/management experience
  • Red Cross Lifeguard and First Aid certification
  • Life Time Swim Certification
  • Aquatics Manager Training
  • CPR/AED certification within 3 months of hire
  • Ability to work in a stationary position and move about the club for prolonged periods
  • Ability to communicate and exchange information with guests
  • Ability to swim 25 yards/meters without stopping
  • Ability to routinely bend to raise 20 lbs or less and occasionally bend to raise more than 20lbs
Preferred Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field
  • NSPF Certified Pool Operator (CPO)
  • Red Cross Lifeguard Instructor (LGI)
  • Lifeguard Instructor Trainer (LGIT)
