Responsibilities

As a Refrigeration Start-up Technician, you will be responsible for the start-up of supermarket refrigeration, heating, and ventilation equipment. You will also assist with Energy Optimization (EO) projects, which may include retro-commissioning of supermarkets, EMS upgrades, leak detection upgrades, and gas conversion projects.

You will work closely with local branch Service and Construction Managers to assist with problematic stores, training for junior technicians and foremen, or other areas as needed. You will also perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need a high school diploma or GED, coursework at an accredited vocational-technical or trade school, and 3+ years of experience in supermarket EMS systems. EMS Certification is preferred, and you will also need 5+ years of experience in commercial refrigeration, especially with parallel rack systems.

You will need to be proficient in the use of the Microsoft suite of applications, have a solid working knowledge of refrigeration, ice machines, and electrical systems, and be able to efficiently troubleshoot commercial and supermarket refrigeration equipment.

You will also need to have good communication skills, the ability to build strong relationships with customers, management, crew, and team, and knowledge of and ability to read blueprints on refrigeration, electrical, and plumbing.
