Job SummaryAs a Cannon Crewmember in the Army National Guard, you will play a critical role in ensuring the U.S. maintains its battlefield superiority. You will be responsible for delivering decisive blows to the enemy using howitzers and learning how to use high-tech cannon artillery weapons systems, as well as artillery tactics and strategy.
Key Responsibilities- Conducting wire and radio communications to coordinate with other units
- Identifying target locations and setting, loading, and firing artillery to achieve mission objectives
- Using computers to generate fire direction data and operate heavy and light wheeled trucks and tracked vehicles
- Transporting and managing artillery ammunition and maintaining operational readiness of vehicles and equipment
- Participating in reconnaissance operations and working as a team member to achieve mission success
- Must be between the ages of 17 and 35
- Must be physically and mentally fit to perform under pressure
- Must be able to make quick decisions and work effectively in a team environment
