Job Title: Residential Instructor

Community Residences is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Residential Instructor to join our team. As a Residential Instructor, you will play a vital role in creating a nurturing and supportive environment for individuals with developmental disabilities.

Job Summary

The Residential Instructor will be responsible for providing direct care and support to clients, including assisting with daily living activities, implementing individualized plans, and promoting independence and self-advocacy. This is a dynamic and rewarding role that requires a strong commitment to providing high-quality care and support.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Provide direct care and support to clients, including assistance with daily living activities, personal care, and medication administration.
  2. Implement individualized plans and strategies to promote independence and self-advocacy.
  3. Monitor and report changes in client behavior, medical conditions, and other relevant information to supervisors and healthcare professionals.
  4. Assist with household management, including meal preparation, cleaning, and maintenance.
  5. Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.
  6. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive and coordinated care.
  7. Ensure a safe and healthy environment for clients, including adherence to agency policies and procedures.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least two years of experience in the field of human services, preferably in a residential setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
  • Valid CT driver's license and reliable transportation.
Work Schedule

This position requires a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends. The specific schedule will be discussed during the interview process.
