About the RoleThis is a full-time position available for RN's with 4 or more years of experience. You will be hired at our Expert Nurse level on the career ladder and will have the opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment with a focus on cardiac management and procedures.
Responsibilities- Developing Others: Passionately precepts students, graduate nurses, and new hires.
- Patient Care: Applies the nursing process within Relationship Based Care to create a healing environment.
- Workplace Relationships: Builds and mends relationships among colleagues within a healthy workplace framework.
- Quality Improvement: Identifies opportunities for clinical quality and workplace improvement.
- Professional Leadership: Serves as a role model in clinical expertise, teaching, specialized resource nursing, and evidence-based practice.
At UPMC Shadyside, we offer a comprehensive benefits package, including:

To be considered for this role, you must have:
- Minimum 4 years of experience
- BSN preferred
- Ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret information to identify age-specific needs
- Ability to work productively and effectively within a complex environment, handle multiple/changing priorities, and specialized equipment
You must obtain the following clearances and certifications:
- Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
- Registered Nurse (RN)
- UPMC approved national certification preferred
