Job Summary:

A Grease Collection Specialist is responsible for the operation of a grease collection truck to collect used cooking oil, and/or a fat and bone collection truck for the removal and collection of raw material(s) from customer locations. This role involves various duties, including pumping grease containers, ensuring cleanliness of containers and surrounding areas, and completing route tickets with customer signatures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Pump grease containers and ensure cleanliness of container and surrounding area; lock and secure container with screen, lid, and lock; note any damages to container or corral area; properly complete route ticket with customer signature.
  • Empty customer's grease trap utilizing a company vehicle by pumping trap contents into attached tank. Ensure cleanliness of trap area; clean all spilled grease if necessary.
  • Fat and bone removal routes collect and inspect raw material(s) at time of pick up for any foreign or hazardous material at customer location's (local routes, some overnight).
  • Required to maintain an electronic DOT log, paper log only if electronic log book is inoperable.
  • Provide customer with receipt of pick-up and obtain signature of management at location.
  • Responsible for company vehicle; maintain vehicle in cleanest possible manner; operate vehicle in accordance with company, federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicle; operate vehicle under state, federal, local regulations and in accordance with company policy and procedures; observe all company safety rules.
  • Complete vehicle condition report on a daily basis; operate under all company safety standards.
  • Maintain excellent customer relations by providing quality, professional service at all times.
  • Responsible for completing all company required paperwork in accordance with company policies (route tickets, driver vehicle inspection reports, accident reports, mileage reports, service forms, fuel forms, scale forms, etc.) on a daily basis.

Requirements:

  • Must be 21 years of age.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Must possess a valid Class A CDL, with a Tanker Endorsement.
  • Must be registered on https://clearinghouse.fmcsa.dot.gov/.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 1 year of prior experience operating a commercial vehicle in route delivery setting preferred.
  • Prior route experience within a customer-oriented environment preferred.
  • Experience with truck hydraulics a plus.
  • Communicates clearly in verbal and written form.
  • Highly organized; superior time management skills.
  • Ability to maintain composure in difficult situations; adaptable to changing situations.
  • Must have a good driving record.
  • Ability to work well with internal staff and external customers.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide whole numbers.

Physical Demands:

  • Constantly required to walk, stand, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crawl, and crouch.
  • Frequently required to sit for extended periods, while driving.
  • Regularly required reach with hands and arms.
  • Occasionally push, pull, up to 200 lbs.
  • Frequently must push, pull, move or lift up to 75 lbs. repeatedly.

Estimated Salary: $65,000 - $75,000 per year
