**Job Summary**

As a Pilot Rotor Wing Aviation Specialist at Air Methods, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient transportation of medical crew and patients to receiving hospitals within an assigned operational area. This role requires a high level of expertise in aviation operations, Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR), and Air Methods policies and procedures.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Operate Air Methods aircraft in a safe and legal manner, adhering to all relevant regulations and guidelines.
  • Conduct thorough pre-flight checks to ensure the aircraft is airworthy, and complete the Daily Flight Log.
  • Final authority on aircraft operations and passenger safety, with a focus on providing exceptional customer service.
  • Develop and maintain a thorough knowledge of aircraft and medical systems, ensuring seamless integration with the medical flight team.
  • Complete required documentation and participate in regular meetings, activities, and community outreach initiatives.

**Requirements:**

  • Associate's degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school, with two to five years of related experience and/or training.
  • Commercial and Instrument Rating for the category and class of aircraft, with a First or Second Class FAA Medical certificate.
  • 2000 total flight hours, with a minimum of 1500 hours in the category, and 1000 hours of rotor wing turbine time.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
